Because of the role of water in the life of people, water is considered as an important element.
Drinking at least 8 glass of water daily is a common reminder being given to people. Surprisingly however, there are no scientific bases for this. In 2002 and 2008, medical reviews made on related literatures did not reveal any direct source that would support this healthy advice.
There is no concrete proof when it comes to the quantity of water one must drink. The British Dietetic Association places it at 1.8 liters a day, while American RDI (Reference Daily Intake) says 3.7 liters per day for males above 18 years old and 2.7 liters a day for females over 18. These include the water unknowingly consumed when eating food and drinking beverages.
It is expected that every glass of water would contain at least minimal amount of minerals. By doing further examination, one can identify zinc, potassium, chloride and zinc present in water. The moment you ingest water, minerals and other elements goes together inside one's human body.
Because countries such as America can have abundant resources of water, people to tend to take for granted such resources. Water safe for human consumption is sadly not available to the majority of the locals living in Africa. Clean drinking water is a priviledge being enjoyed and made available to only 27% of the people residing in rural places.
It is said that a total of 884 million people are deprived from safe source of water and most of these people reside in the rural location. Presence of contaminated water is the very reason why certain places would consider water as a treasure to be cherished. Just to get by, people would even go to the point of drinking dirty and contaminated water.
Although the planet is 70% water, most of this is saltwater, and therefore, unsafe for drinking. Freshwater, which can be seen in almost all area, is a good resource that could supply the population's need. Sources of freshwater include underground aquifers, rain, surface water, plants, and by desalinating seawater; underground water surfaces in springs, which are natural resources for mineral-rich clean water.

The delivery of water intended for human consumption is done through passing networks of pipes and channels. However, due to wear and tear, most city piping and plumbing that have been put in place at the turn of the century have now deteriorated. Underground pipes are leaking, and thus contamination is a serious threat even in the most developed cities in the world.
In cases of drought and intense hot weather, people can make use of
water tanks and towers as a reservoir where consumable water can be stored. Countries having problem with water source place immense value and worth even on small amount of water. In coming up with innovative measures, people were able to continually benefit from agricultural ventures amidst problems in water supply.
In water deprived countries, certain agricultural countries can be experienced. The situation of water scarcity, people need to make immediate conservation action. Nowadays, having water tanks must be seen in homes in order to assure water supply sustainance.
